Learning Commons

Helping Mrs. McGee with various tasks within the Learning Commons. The main tasks include reshelving books and checking in books, but could also include different tasks to help Mrs. McGee prepare for lessons. 

Welcome Desk

Volunteer to sit at the Welcome Desk and complete simple tasks provided by various teachers in order to lessen their workload. Typical tasks include counting, sorting, and/or assembling instructional items. Instructions will be provided by the teacher requesting assistance. Volunteers at the Welcome Desk do not answer the school phone or door since that is handled by the front office staff. 

**Rocky Mount and the staff love our volunteers and they are of great help.  As a result, if you need to cancel last minute (or you sign up last minute), please contact the front office so they have adequate notice to prepare for the change in plans.  

School Store

We are looking for a few volunteers to help put out and sell merchandise at the school store. We open the school store one Friday a month, from 7:15am -7:45am. Your basic duties are to arrive by 7:00, help set out items for sale, add up costs for kids, make change, smile, and have fun. We have two locations to help with the crowd of students, one in the front lobby and one in the cafeteria. 

PBIS Rewards

Help pass out PBIS rewards to our students this school year. Please come either the first Monday or Tuesday of the month, starting no later than 11:30am, that works for you within the weeks designated.  Please leave your email and contact number.  Your contact information will be given to Ms. Gallagher, who will coordinate with you for distributing the prizes. You will organize prizes from a prepared list and distribute them to the classrooms. This task may take a few hours, so please plan accordingly.
